Our History

OUR HISTORY

Our Redeemer Church was founded on June 11, 2000, by Pastor Bob Beckstrom, and we have worshiped together on Sunday in the American Legion Hall since that time. We began life as a Covenant Church, but in 2004, we reorganized as an independent, Protestant church.

Day-to-day decisions for the church are made by a Board of Deacons, elected by the church membership. All major decisions are made by members at Congregational Meetings.

Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

Suppose you are a large “family,” and you wish to worship together. You come from a variety of different Christian backgrounds, so you want the worship to be “multi-denominational.”

You pool your resources, hire a wonderful pastor, and rent the American Legion Hall in downtown Driggs for your services. One of your family members is an accomplished pianist, and another is a talented guitar player.

Together they accompany your family in singing traditional Christian hymns and outstanding praise songs. Importantly, although you are a closely-knit family of believers, anyone who chooses to worship with you is immediately welcomed into the family. That’s who we are!

Our Pastor

OUR PASTOR

Steve Gilmore, M.Div., has been our pastor since 2004. Pastor Steve is really more of a teacher than a preacher. In addition to serving our church, Steve is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor at Curran-Seeley in Jackson. Members of our church family profit greatly from Pastor Steve’s teaching and counseling skills.
